I have Installed 59G backed up Image of ubuntu 08.10 into a 250G hard drive now 250G drive now shows it's full how can this be. Please help.

To view how can this be, just install and use :

apt:/gdmap

To Clean Up, try this :

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/bleachbit/bleachbit_0.3.2-1_all_ubuntu810.deb
