installation challenge. busy box abnormal exit

Asked by asareere

In my HP compaq presario im using XP sp3 and i tried to install ubuntu 8.. by selecting the booting device as cd.dvd drive. this took me to the UBUNTu main screen where i selected the language. The next screen was a loading bar screen and next to it the window displayed a screen something like Dos command. which had the display as"Udev-event...run program: 'sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit

Busy box v1,1,3 (debian 1:1.1.3-subuntu1.2) built in shell (ash)
enter 'help' for a list of built in commands
(intitramffs).."

in this case how can i proceed to continue installation.

note: i tried to boot the cd from windows and i didn't have the install inside windows option in it. thats when i gave a try on this method.

if you have difficulty with the graphical installer, try the alternate text based installer CD instead:
