Does anyone can take a look at this forum topic I posted at Beryls forum and see If had the same problem or just know the answer?
http://www.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=158&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

I am using the opens ource driver for ATI and having this display problem, while running Beryl or just simple typing glxgears on the terminal.

Do you have an ATI 9500 graphics card?
If so, be aware that the Open Source ATI drivers do not support (or they do it badly) 3D acceleration for this model.

As I said, the 3D open source driver support for this card is not very good. Please have a look at:

http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/ATIRadeon

Also, if you look in your Xorg.0.log file you will see something like:

(II) RADEON(0): Render acceleration unsupported on Radeon 9500/9700 and newer.

Try to install compiz, (from compiz.org: "The Compiz and Beryl communities are pleased to announce that they will be reuniting")

follow this guide: http://compiz.org/Ubuntu_Installation_Guide

Cesare:
I know some ATI board are not fully supported, but I've read and more than one pepole on the OpenComposite (Beryl) forum said it worked.

I am wondering if there is some kind of problem with my GLX lib instalation.
