Which driver is Ubuntu's default open source driver for Nvidia graphics cards - nv or nouveau?

"nv" is just the shortage for "nouveau".
So it's the same... just another name.
And yes... this driver should be used by default.

Are you sure about this? I always read about either nv or nouveau. I never found them mentioned as the same on any page.
