Does the "nv" driver support DVI out on a MacBook Pro 3rd. generation?

I can't get the proprietary Nvidia driver to work with the DVI out of the above mentioned notebook. Does the open source "nv" driver support DVI out (in general)?

In general it should work. Never tried it with a MacBook.

Thank you for this information. Since it does not work on the MacBook Pro tested on, I filed a bug report (cf https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24/+bug/248722).
