problem connecting a nikon d40 to programs

problem connecting a nikon d40 to programs..Through a usbport i doesńt work at all.

1) Open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal

Unplug your nikon from usb

2) type into terminal

lsusb

plug your nikon to usb

3) type into terminal

lsusb

Please read differences if there are any to see if your nikon is recognized by the system.

It seems that you met the fate of many Nikon D-SLR users like I :-(
But there is a solution, check the first page if it is the same problem as yours, then on the second page there is a solution.
