Could Not Commit Changes Problem

Asked by burrashiva

Hi ,
I am trying to upgrade to Feista fawn from Edgy ...the automatic apt upgrade tool, which pops up and informs about the upgrade.
I am facing the following problem.

It downloaded all the upgrade files. ..but its fails to install
     giving out the following error:

*********************************************************************
Could NOT commit changes - Adept Updater
There was an error committing changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages.
*********************************************************************

It doesnt look good to work on half-Upgraded Kubuntu..pl. Help.
thank you for any help.
Prasad.

I tried the above commands, and it says that files don't exist, etc, and won't change anything.
