printer hangs

Asked by rogeroren

Installed BJC-4200 printer, used BJC-600 driver as suggested. When I print a test page, printer prints 1/2" of the top of the test page and hangs. error log has:

Looks like it stops because of permissions, but I don't know how to fix it. I'm the only user, have 109 lpadmin in my id string.

What else can I try?

downloaded foomatic-gui from add/remove tools choices (searched for cups)
used it to configure printer, noticed it was better at picking the correct port, easy to get info. After configuring with foomatic-gui, tried test print. Printed ok.
