Try booting into the LiveCd and see if the problem happens in that too. Please le us know as this sounds like a bios issue otherwise.

There are quite a few different possible things we might try but it depends on where the problem is. If it's a bios issue then we can give you answers relevant to that but if it's something else then we'd suggest something completely different. Please help us to help you or there's little we can do. We need more info from you
