runing applications

hi

i am trying ubuntu now but when i try to install any program it gives me an error
and thats even for the software of my internet connection

also on my motherbord cd i found folders named linux driver but i didnt find any setup
only files with .tar format and some read files that gives me instructions that i dont understand
i thought ubuntu was easy but i find it hard to install any program now
plz help me

Hi ice_wolf,
Can you tell us what kind of programs are you trying to install?
Are those programs made or used by you on the windows platform?
The .exe programs are for the windows platform and to make it work at Ubuntu you need an adapter software called wineHQ.
To add programs to Ubuntu, you can go to Applications->Add/Remove... and will find thousands.
