sound juicer keeps freezing

Asked by guitarmaniac

I want to rip my CDs to mp3 so that I can listen to them on my phone.
However, when I go to change the encoding profile the screen just freezes.
This is happening with a fresh install of Feisty.

Thanks for your question.
You can open a shell and do this command:

sound-juicer

this open the program with log all in terminal, do all you want and when freezes post the result in the shell.

thanks

Ok heres what happens.
I open up sound juicer and go to Edit > Preferences > Edit Profiles
Select CD Quality, MP3 > Edit.
There should be four windows open now, Sound Juicer, Preferences, Edit GNOME
Audio Profiles and Editing Profile "CD Quality, MP3".
I found out that if I exit the "Edit GNOME Audio Profiles" window I can now
use the "Editing Profile "CD Quality, MP3" window.
I then restart sound juicer and try to rip a CD and it comes up as .ogg.

I just tried deleting my MP3 profile and editing the OGG one to use mp3 settings "audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=2 ! lame name=enc mode=1 vbr=4 preset=1001 ! id3v2mux" but it doesnt work.
It encodes the files as MP3 they dont play properly.

Your problem is the same as bug #92462.
Apparently it can be solved by installing the gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly package from the multiverse repository.
