Windows and firewall question

Asked by lharr

I finally installed ubuntu 8.10 and its great so far. My problem is when I partitioned the drive I think I used the whole space and now when I turn on my computer linux OS only starts and not the bios screen which I can choose between one or the other. Did I make a big goof? I also want to know what firewall you recommend to install on this linux OS, I was using Comodo firewall and a host of other apps for my security on windows. Did I lose all my windows files when I installed linux? Thank you for your time.

Ubuntu by Default comes with a Strong Firewall, more than Windows and OS X.
so, for most users, theres no problem with the Firewall.

I dont know your skills to configure/customize/personalize your firewall (is optional),
but are avaliable a simple GUI:

GUFW:
http://gufw.tuxfamily.org/es/screenshots.html

Firestarter:
http://www.fs-security.com/

and CLI configuration for advanced users.
