Try installing something relevant from Synaptic Package Manager. Go up to the top taskbar and click on

System - Administration - Synaptic is near the end

Use either search tool to look for "midi keyboard" and look through the options. To install a package right-click on it and select "install". Then click on the "Apply" button.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Brilliant, nicely fixed. Congrats
Almost all the linux distro's i've tried have a fully serachable package manager like this and another one that runs from the command-line. Ubuntu has a second gui one that some people prefer, they all read the same list but just present the information slightly differently. Try ging up to the top taskbar and click on

Applications - Add/Remove Applications

Note that in Ubuntu this can "Add" programs - in Window "Add/Remove Programs" was only about removing programs. lol

Congrats on fixing the problem, welcome to linux-land, especially the Ubuntu corner of it
Regards from
Tom
