Video Capture Card

Asked by meatmailbox

What are the video capture cards that I should buy to capture from VCR or Camera?I have a Turtle Beach Video Advantage PCI? I can Capture Video but cannot get any Audio with any application I use.I also use a Creative Labs SoundBlaster 24bit USB for Sound. It works great with Audacity but will not work for Video Capture. If someone could tell me what to do with what I have I could save a lot of money. Also I would probably keep Ubuntu Studio and maybe Install Studio on a much larger HDD that I have.I hate using what looks like such a useful OS for just browsing the web. Thanks

((What are the video capture cards that I should buy to capture from VCR or Camera?))
I have a BT878 chip based working perfectly and "out-of-the-box", they are very friendly.

((I can Capture Video but cannot get any Audio with any application I use.))
I have to connect my video capture cards "line out" to my sound card "line in" to get sound.

((I would probably keep Ubuntu Studio and maybe Install Studio on a much larger HDD that I have.))
You can transform "Ubuntu" to "Ubuntu Studio":
On Firefox, copy, paste on the address bar and press ENTER:

apt:/ubuntustudio-desktop
