Hello reptileguy,

if you had a hacker in your system then theres no telling what kind of damage or backdoors he may have put. I strongly recommend you save your data files, format your partition and reinstall your operating system.

nhasian's got a good point. Can you create a new partition large enough to move your "/home" folder too? If not can you make a 8Gb partition to install a new Ubuntu too and then edit "menu.lst" so that you don't boot into the old version?

A hacker in Linux?!?!?! Can't we get them writing tougher code like multimedia apps, gaming, Wine? What's so great about hacking anyway, it's not that impressive.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
