Firefox crashes after upgrade to gutsy

Asked by lsmobrian

I just upgraded from feisty to gutsy, and now firefox crashes.
When run from the terminal, here is the error message after the crash

/usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/firefox/components/libmyspell.so: undefined symbol: _ZN8Hunspell5spellEPKc

I am using text-based browser right now, because this form causes the crash in firefox

update, also happends with open office
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/libspell680li.so: undefined symbol: _ZN8Hunspell5spellEPKc

This was probably not wise. Gutsy development started only very recently and is likely to break here and there over the next few months before it stabilises prior to the release.

Do NOT run Gutsy unless you know how to resolve some of these fundamental issues.

That said bugs can be reported against gutsy, and this can aid development.
