I cannot apt-get install anything right now it shows:-

E: The package ttf-mscorefonts-installer needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

and i try to reinstall and it shows the the same thing as error above.

What is the output of

apt-cache policy ttf-mscorefonts-installer

i solved my problem by upgrading

apt-get dist-upgrade
and now i am available to apt-get update and apt-get install
