simple question

I tried running 7.04 but it wasn't working on my back-up computer (it kept hanging up in start-up). I then downloaded 6.06.1 LTS, and after restart (to use the live-cd) it sends me to the command prompt. My question is, what is the command line to start the gui?

You should be able to start it using startx. If would be helpful if you could provide more information about your system; what kind of machine is it? Laptop or desktop? How much RAM do you have, etc.

It is a Insignia Desktop system, with 2 GB of RAM, running windows XP SP2.. DVD drive as well as CD-RW, and a 6-in-1 drive....
