Email Address of a forum member

Why don't you go on his profile and click "contact this user". I guess you cannot get the e-mail address directly if that user has preferred to hide his address away from the public.

To go to the corresponding profile, click on his username and click the "Overview" tab.

This is not exactly a "forum", it is specifically a help area for individual projects on Ubuntu.

AFAIK, while the email addresses are supposed to be private, members here are addressable by their public "nickname"

Your email seems to be <email address hidden>
You should be addressable as <email address hidden>.

OK, am new to launchpad myself and still have *lots* to learn. Is why I carefully qualified my answer.

Did you find the email address you were looking for?

Peter click on the name you want to contact for example your name a new Launchpad page will open click on Overwiev and you can find details of user you have selected but you will not read the mail of the user if he had not set as public.
You are still able to contact the user using launchpad link "Contact this user" on the overview user page

Try clicking on the persons name in ble above one of their posts. Then look up near the top of the page that took you to and click on "Overview", that takes you to their Profile page and from their you can either see their email address or some shy people hide it so just click on "Contact this member" and write straight from launchpad :)
