raw drive recovery

hi
i was installing ubuntu on my pc...i had 2 drives C: and D: i had all my data in D: drive when asked where to installl i chose D: drive i didnt know whatelse to do...it asked me for swap since i didnt have another partition for it...i discontinued the installation..now my D: drive is inaccessible....in windows it apppears as RAW and in ubuntu(demo version) as Lost&found...how can i recover D: drive. thanks

You may have formatted your D: drive into a ext3 filesystem. You may be able to recover some data.

Try booting into windows and by using for instance
http://www.diskinternals.com/download/Linux_Recovery.exe
http://filehippo.com/download_file_recovery/ (may not work but try)
you may be able to recover some files from it.

thanx for ur help..but i could only recover picture files like jpg tiff bmp etc....ill try similar recovery softwares....?

Please tell i have a solution to try using an installed Ubuntu have you some installed Ubuntu... pc...?

Jep. Try different recovery softwares. Don't write data to the D: drive since that may erase your already formatted data.
