using ibm850 encoding with xterm

Asked by Steve Romanow

I have ibm850 working for both gnome-terminal and konsole. FOr a multiuser system , I am trying to see if xterm can display our aix app properly. If I can get xterm working, it would use far less resources. I have tried in the console LC-TYPE="IBM850" xterm and various permutations. I see on older xterm man pages referenceing a -en option that does not appear with xterm now. I have also tried just 850 and CP850 with no joy.

Thanks.

I found a choice in our SB+ app that allowed the utf8 encoding to work.
