WG111T USB adapter (from Netgear) not working in Ubuntu 8.10

Asked by dblackmore

supported wireless network card/network help

Does ubuntu 8.10 support netgear wireless USB adapter WG111T? I'm trying to get either a wired or wireless connection to work on a old micronPC transport GX+ laptop. It has a 3comm lan card built-in but ubuntu doesn't seem to recognize it after the OS install. I'm New to linux so any help would be great. My goal is to have this laptop run a webcam to stream online for security purposes. It also must be able to reboot when and if pwr goes out. Is ubuntu a good choise or is another verson of linux better?

Thanks,
dblackmore
