XMMS equalizer not working

I'm using XMMS to play music.

It's awesome, cause it looks like Winamp, and well, it's really easy to use..
But the problem I'm having is that the equalizer is not working at all. I equalize, and turn the eq on, and nothing happens. Sound is still the same.

It worked before, but I had to format, and after the formatting it won't work at all.

Any ideas of what's happening?

wait, in my system the equalizer has a little delay, make sure it is turn on.

At the top and left of the equalizer there are 2 buttons: On and Auto.

Make sure the On button is lighten, if not it just bypasses the equalizer.
