Where can I get support for the Ubunt System?

Asked by Dianne

I have the Dell Mini 9 Laptop with the Ubuntu System. I can not get online. Each time I try I receive an error message stating,"File not found. Firefox can't find the file at/media/zero./autorun.inf." How do I get online. Do I have to purchase extra equipment that is compatible with Ubuntu? If so, where can I purchase the needed equipment. Ubuntu is not compatible with AT&T,Sprint or Verizon. Please help me.

Hello Dianne,

Did you try using the network manager applet ? (it's the applet with the two screens at the upper right side of your screen) left click on it, and choose your wifi connection if you use it, or choose the option in "wired networks". Then open firefox (using the red fox and blue earth icon on the upper left, and type the website you want to open, for instance http://ubuntu.com). Does it working now ?

If you use another type of connection, please tell us about it here.

Hope that it helps you.

have u edited your ".bashrc" file ? This is necessary if u r using a proxy server to use the internet.

If the "Auto-run programs" option is enabled in System->Preferences->Removable Drives and Media, then it checks if a autorun.inf file is present.

Plz Try to disable the same.

I think this will help
