How can I get my s-video working?

I have a HP Pavilion dv1000, and I wanted to use the S-Video to connect to my Vizio. However Intrepid does not detect it, and the shortcut to enable the screen (fn+f4) does not work either.

Is there anything that I can do?

what video adaptor do you have?

Open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

lshw -C display
