Do NOT format /boot partition on install

Is there a way to leave the /boot partition intact during a desktop install? I tried the alternate disc image but it still does.

I divided my hard disk into partitions - /boot, /home, swap and 3 more to accommodate 3 different distros.

When you get to the disk partitioning stage select "manual", you have the option here to leave partitions intact.
