Advanced Search - Enhancement

Asked by mattmill30

Hi,

I've noticed that the nautilus search facility only has a basic interface, with file name criteria only.

As an enhancement, could an interface be programmed as an advanced search to include, searching for text within files and also date stamps.

The interface could be accessed via an advanced button that appears next to the search bar.

The interface itself could be similar to the windows interface which replaces the folder tree sidebar or it could appear below the favorites sidebar if there's space, or could be similar to the Firefox search, where it appears as a bar across the bottom.

Alternatively, dependant upon the size of the window, it could actively switch between, depending on which is the most optimised for space.

Thanks,

Matthew Millar
