The easiest way would be to install Thunderbird on the same machine that has Outlook 97 installed. The Windows version of Thunderbird has a way to import emails and settings from Outlook and Outlook Express.

Then use Thunderbird's export tool to copy the file into Ubuntu and import it.

Marcelo,

En Thunderbird, escoge la opcion de menu Herramientas -> Importar para iniciar el asistente de importación. Una vez en el asistente, escoge la opcion correo y despues especificas Outlook como el programa del cual quieres IMPORTAR.
