GUI not loading on boot up

Asked by elektrofunk77

I am using version 8.10. When I start up my computer I get the menu to choose windows or ubuntu. I choose Ubuntu. It says "press escape to enter menu" breifly. The ubuntu logo comes up and looks like it is loading (with the orange bar going back and forth.) This happens for a few minutes. Then a DOS like screen comes up and says:"BusyBox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-1ubuntu6) built in shell (ash) - Enter 'help' for a list of built in commands."

How do I get the GUI to load up?

Here are my system specs:
Processor: 64 bit AMD 6000+ dual core
Memory: 6 GB
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX
Motherboard: ECS EliteGroup HT 2000 GeForce 6100
Sound: Realtek (on Motherboard)
