12 in 1 card reader. ..help

Asked by Lil_miss_linux

Hi ,I have a generic 12 in 1 card reader, cant see a make or model but this is the info on it...

Model no: CR-V35-U12
Serial No: ATL50500353

That is really all identifyable info I can find on it...
Have tried looking that up on the net to no success. Tried ubuntu forums..well quite frankly a needle in a haystack!

This is what it does on my system...
I go to....

Places:>>>
Computer:>>
>>Generic storage device.. but doesnt show as if anyt pix are in it.

So right click and click 'open'
and this is what I get...

Unable to mount selected volume:
mount: /dev/sdd already mounted or /media/usbdisk busy

mount: /dev/sdd already mounted or /media/usbdisk busy

error: could not execute pmount

Can anyone help?
Thanks..

thanks for that, I just figured it out..so simple it is rediculous!
I have been working on it for months!
I unplugged the usub modem....and put the card reader in there!
Worked a treat!
So thinking that perhaps the usb I had been putting it in all this time was broken I then put my usb modem into the slot I had been using for the card reader...
Don't know why but the usb modem works fine in there, but the usb card reader doesn't, anyway.
FINALLY it works.
Thanks for your help.
Another little tip to try for anyone else experiencing issues.
