Re: #58126 "network" I got "network tools" instead.

Since I asked for help the last time, I have done more reading and research on

Ubuntu linux to teach myself more on the Ubuntu opperating system. I am still as

dumb as ever but now I know that all the Ubuntu 9.10 disks have the same install

information as my disk. So I have to find a way arround my problem.

I have an older PC. There no modem installed in the windows98se O S. I have an

external USROBOTICS 5633 model installed on windows98se. I can install Ubuntu on

the computer with two partitioned drives. partition with a 50-50 ratio. But once

Ubuntu is installed. I can not install any thing onto the computer without an

error saying "error occurred while loading". What I need is a step-by-step info.

as to a workaround method in setting up all the files - programs - etc. to get

the whole O S up and running. By the way, I have dialup internet setup. If

someone out there can help me, I would appreciate it MUCH. Any info is

appreciated any way. If more information is requird. Please let me know.

     THANKS MUCH.

with some google i found this:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/53334

hope it might be a solution for u.

for your search for network - i assume the docs are a bit outdated, with the new network-manager you will get the ability to change/edit connection settings via right-click on the symbol (the two desktops) on the top right.

hope it is an answer ;)

Can you help with this problem?
