Ayuda con impresora, Audio pidgin etc Ubuntu
Hola, soy nuevo en Ubuntu, sí, pero pues me las he ingeniado para aprender de él, y así he solucionado los problemas que se me han venido dando desde que lo instalé, pero tengo 4 que de plano no puedo solucionar:
1.- Desde que instalé ubuntu ya no puedo escuchar audio, para nada, he hecho todo lo que he encontrado en los foros, lo del alsamixer al tope, lo de cambiar la configuración de alsa, reiniciarlo etc, en fin muchas cosas más, pero no se oye nada de nada y pues no se que hacer, quisiera que alguien me ayudara... Cabe destacar que cuando hice la prueba con el livecd si tenia audio! y ahora que instalé ubuntu por completo como SO de mi computadora no tengo audio.
2.- No puedo configurar la impresora, sucede que tengo la ultima version de CUPS instalada y no puedo configurar la impresora ni graficamente con ubuntu ni por medio del navegador, ya que no puedo accesar al localhost:631 y no me la reconoce tampoco automaticamente, tampoco se que hacer, ya probé todas las soluciones de los foros, pero nada...
3.- Pidgin no conecta, ya tengo lo del Msn pecan que me deja establecer una cuenta en pidgin como WLM pero aunquem la haga con eso y todo no conecta, dice "conectando, conectando...." y asi se queda sin hacer nada más...
4.- Yo desarrollé una versión portable del navegador google chrome, la cual cuando instalé ubuntu, quise hacer correr con Wine... Curiosamente sí funcionaba, pero 3 días después la verdad no sé que pasó pero ya no carga las páginas de internet... espero que alguien pueda ayudarme, gracias..

Podrías ejecutar desde un terminal:
sudo lshw
y pegar aquí el resultado para tener más datos de tu equipo.
También sería útil que pegues el contenido de xorg.conf (/etc/X11/
ifconfig -a
y que nos digas qué versión de ubuntu estás usando.

Eso es todo verdad? Ah sí, utilizo Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
Ahora, mis preguntas concretas son:
1.- Que debo hacer si no tengo audio en ubuntu
2.-Que debo hacer si tengo cups instalado y actualizado pero no puedo agregar una impresora nueva y cuando lo reinicio me sale child exited on signal 1 fail y aparte no me puedo conectar a localhost:631 para configurarla?
3.- Porqué mi Pidgin se traba conectando y nunca conecta?
4.- Porqué mi navegador base google chrome que corría bien con wine ya no corre?

Por problemas con el audio, proba lo siguiente
Agrega al final de /etc/modprobe.
options snd-hda-intel model=ref
Reinicia y fijate si tienes sonido.
Con respecto al pidgin, Proba conectar al msn con emesene
www.emesene.org
muy parecido a pidgin, para mi mejor (nada mas que conecta solo a la red de msn)
Despues con respecto a la impresora, no se nada del tema.
Y por ulitmo con chrome, Si todavia tienes el portable original, bueno
trata de abrirlo de nuevo y en config de wine ponerle que emule
windows xp, o vista o algun otro haber si asi te lo levanta. Digo, si
el problema es que ya no abre, o que si abre y no funciona, ahi no
tengo idea que serà. De todos modos, Firefox es mejor, para mi gusto,
porque no usas firefox?
