Ubuntu is an user friendly system ...

But if you already had a long time of using windows as system, it will be take a little time to be comfortable of using ubuntu ...

I think your problem is a habit that you are use another system before use ubuntu ...

You can purchase windows xp or vista, but if you want, you can purchase mac which it will be a good system than windows ...

Good Luck ^-^ ..

Curious how long you've been using Ubuntu and how long have you used other OS's?

Mac is renowned for being user friendly and very pretty but if Windows is the only one you're used to then you might find it too different too. Vista is very challenging but Xp might be what you're used to. Of course Xp is becoming obsolete and Microsoft are withdrawing support for it ...

Please give Ubuntu a chance. It may take a few weeks to get used to it enough for some things and getting advanced in it might take a few months but once you're used to 1 linux they're all quite similar. Most of us have been using Windows for many years but found Ubuntu took only a few weeks to get used to - obviously it takes some time.

Good luck with whichever way you go

The real answer is that any OS can replace Ubuntu.

It might be worth trying one of the other major linux distros such as Mandriva or Fedora or OpenSuse but as they are all also free and you said you wanted to buy something we assumed you meant one of the companies that charge for what others give freely.

Yes it is also possible to get support that you pay for, even with linux's

As before
Good luck
