This is unlikely to be a Xubuntu problem but rather a hardware problem.

If it is one long beep then it is most likely due to one of the following causes:

1. Loose component - remove and reseat RAM modules, graphics card, sound card, ethernet card, etc, also check external connections of peripherals.
2. Component overheating - clean the inside of the computer and check that fans are working. Allow sufficient airspace around the computer.
3. Keyboard failure - change keyboard.
4 Power supply faulty - replace power supply.

No it is a fast beeping noise. It sounds like it is coming from the laptop's soundcard.
