when I use my skype people can't hear me

My skype was working fine a few days ago and now nobody can hear me. please help! I am using an ADM64 compter, Ubuntu 8 10 and skype 20072

One reason could be that your audio driver is blocked by other programs like vlc or some movie/music player. also check in the options tab in skype->Sound Devices there should be a number of audio drivers available, go trough them until you find one which works.
