Dell Optiplex GX270 SFF-Are ubuntu drivers available?

Asked by Frodo fan

I am considering buying a Dell Optiplex GX270 SFF if I know I can install ubuntu?

Are ubuntu drivers available somewhere, I see from the posts that Ubuntu is running on a Dell Optiplex GX270 ... what I have not been able to find is where I can find the drivers for this Dell computer. I assume I need Ubuntu drivers?

FYI--They are not available at the Dell website by choosing Red Hat (as I have previously seen recommended) only Windows OS are available under the Dell/Support/driver downloads page?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!!!

Almost all of the hardware that you use with Ubuntu has drivers included with the operating system. There are exceptions, but they're pretty rare. I see that the Dell Optiplex GX270 appears on the Ubuntu Hardware Compatibility List:

http://www.ubuntuhcl.org/browse/product+dell-optiplex-gx270?id=41

Checking the spec sheet:

http://www.dell.com/downloads/us/products/optix/gx270_spec.pdf

it says that the internal hardware is the same regardless of the form factor chosen, so if it works on a full-size Optiplex GX270, it'll work on a small form-factor one.
