Cannot connect to WiFi

Asked by Chris Hirtes

I purchased a Cyber Power PC with an Asus Motherboard and Windows 10 preinstalled and have now installed Ubuntu 16.04 on a dual boot basis. Foolishly I did not notice The PC was not wireless enabled but using a TP-Link Wireless adapter easily set up a Windows connection. and thought I might share this using the command "sudo iwlist scan" but this did not work nor did trying to enable the network as I did not have the required information. I have downloaded a Linux driver from TP link but this seems very complicated to install and feel the windows connection should suffice.

Possibly I could hardwire my PC to my computer but my telephone connection is in another room and would mean extensive rewiring.

Your help would be much appreciated.
