Rendezvous with udev timed out Feisty freezes on start up for 4 minutes

Asked by rainmaker4444

After I upgraded to Feisty Fawn my computer freezes on start up for some minutes.

There are three messages displayed:
1. Rendezvous with udev timed out for 'hda3' stat failed no such device or directory
2. Rendezvous with udev timed out for 'hda2' stat failed no such device or directory
3. Rendezvous with udev timed out for 'hda2' stat failed no such device or directory

The whole process takes about 4 minutes after that Ubuntu starts up normally.
Before the error message the The Enterprise Volume Management System is set up [ok]

I found no similar problems on the net and I hope you can help me.

Thank's
Sebastian

I suggest you try the following in console:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install linux-generic initramfs-tools

Hope that helps

This is the first time I used this platform and I must say I am amazed by the response time and professionality.

Thank you very much!

I had the same problem.
sudo apt-get --reinstall install linux-generic initramfs-tools did not help.

I tried rebooting. That helped.
I think this has something to do with udevd.
I have this problem every time I switch to init 1.
