Why is xscreensaver started instead of gnome-screensaver in Xfce session, if both are installed?

How can you make gnome-screesaver started instead of xscreensaver in Xfce session, if both are installed? Using Xunbuntu 8.10.

Uninstalling xscreensaver is the only option unless you want to modify /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc

Thanks for the hint about the script.

Also running these as autostarted applications works, but it is not elegant:
xscreensaver-command -exit
gnome-screensaver

Xfce version in question was 4.6 Beta1.
