Trying to create USB startup - crash report only

Asked by Rosengeek

Using Ubuntu 8.10 booted on a PC from CD. I choose"create USB startup" from the system/accessories menu.
Tried 3 different memory sticks, one at a time. S/W correctly recognises which has enough space. I don't care whether it overwrites the memory stick or archives what's there ...
Immediately I get to the "Installing - starting up" screen I get "Crash report detected".
What's wrong ? - how to overcome ? thanks in anticipation

not sure why its crashing, but if you need to make a USB startup on a memory stick, try UNetbootin http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html

you can use it to make an ubuntu usb startup in either windows or ubuntu.

Can you help with this problem?
