RTL8187SE Wireless LAN Controller (rev 22) not working in Ubuntu
I am a total newbie to Linux but do love the look and feel of Ubuntu.
I have 8.10 installed on my Advent 4213 netbook. It has a RealTek 8187SE pci wireless card. This is not showing as present when I use linux, so I cannot get on my wireless network.
I have downloaded NDIS Wrapper and tried loading the latest driver which appears to install ok but the card is still not showing as present. The sysytem does however instantly recognise the 3G network card (which I dont use but could do if I had woreless broadband).
I have read endless posts on this but can't get to grips with half of it as I seem to need a degree in computing just to get up and running. Is there any one click way or bit of software to getme up and running or amI doomed to keep using XP.....
Cheers,
Dave :-)
