install hang at 72 percent on a mac g4

i have tried to install ubuntu 6.06 on a mac g4 and all goes well untill about 72 percent loaded then it hangs at that spot untill i get bored
it partions the disc then starts load the system files then it starts to go wrong as above
any help would be apprecated

Perhaps try Ubuntu 7.04?

or try burning the disc at a lower speed and then try again.

speaking to my mate with the same computor he is haveing the same trouble but gets to 98 percent
is it a problem with macs with ppc chips
