The DVD Driver (Sony DVD+R 20X DRU-V200A) I bought is not being recognized by Ubuntu
Hi, I want to begin by saying I am not in any way familiar with Ubuntu. I am familiar with windows where I don't need to use commands so please explain as you would explain it to someone who is a newbie.
I bought a Sony DVD+R 20X DRU-V200A (DVD Driver) and installed it into the computer. I replaced the CD/ROM Driver that was in there with the DVD. The CD/ROM was being recognized by ubuntu, but now it has been replaced by something that isn't recognized, the DVD Driver. I am going to let you know this upfront that the DVD has been connected properly to the computer with the same plugs the CD/ROM Driver had.
The DVD Driver came with a software disk and when I loaded up ubuntu, all it recognized were the Floppy Disk and the Hard Drive. I inserted the software disk and still, nothing. I tried going to the System>
Do you guys have any ideas? Thank you very much!
