can't load sudo dpkg;to solve my download.help

Computor failed to download dpkg and crashed but will not except my attempts to fix it with all the advice given.
Tried all the advice but none work.

This is a problem which appears a lot on question and answers its to do with a problem when downloading,my problem is when I try to fix it via the terminal window it does not reconise the command,and comes up with bash does not recognise the command

Thank you
Tried 'dpkg--configuration--a' which reply dash command not recognised
Tried sudo command which also does'nt work
when error was sent back it also said e cache open failed please

The real command is:
 sudo dpkg --configuration --a
With a space between dpkg and --configuration and another space before --a.
Try this and tell us.
