The HP 952C should work straight away as soon as you plug it in. Have you set it up as your default printer?

When you open the Printer Configuration Panel (System, Administration, Printing), click on your printer to highlight it and then click on "Default". You can also click on "Print Test Page".

Are your ink cartridges full of ink?

Yes It is my default printer. I connected it through USB. It was working fine when I had windows XP but know it doesnt. When I stoped using it it was full of ink, so it should still be full.

Did you Print a Test Page from the Printer Configuration Panel?

I have two of the 900C series but they are connected via parallel cable and both are working well (out of the box) in Ubuntu. You could try a parallel cable connection instead of USB. According to the User's Guide, the USB setup procedure is quite different from parallel cable setup. These printers, although still very good, are getting rather old (9 years).

Can you help with this problem?
