Hey,
First, not all wireless cards will work in Ubuntu.
Second, you will connect to your wireless network via the network manager.
steps:
1. click on, "system" choose, "preferences", choose, "network configuration"
2. choose, "wireless"
3. enter your network information there.
You will be asked for the network password as well as a default keyring password. These can be the same password or you can give a new password to the default keyring. The simplest password to use is your login password.

If this does not work, instal, "wine" from, "add_remove_sotware"
You can find support on the ubuntu support page and on the wine web page

If you install ndiswrapper through Add/remove you will not have to do anything but open the application. it will guide you
