problem with configuration server

I just installed 8.10 64 bit and when i start up i get problem with configuration server then error usr/lib/libgcon2-4/gconf-sanity-checkk-2exited with status 256. If i click close then nothing happens and all i get it is a blank screen.

could you try to sudo chmod 775 /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.system and see if you still get the error?
