downloading java on ubuntu so i can play runescape

Asked by electrocobra

i cannot download java on my computer (ubuntu software)
and i really need it to play runescape.

when i go to play rs, the page in which you would play it on, a message pops up that says "java is not installed on your computer." and then it says "if you beleive you have already downloaded java, then you might get this message if it is disabled."
and then it has a link to java.com. it then has instructions that tell you how to enable java. i have followed these several times but nothing seems to happen. pleese help
