can't configure sharing in kubuntu 8.10

Asked by crakken

I have samba installed and configured, but when I go into dolphin, select a folder, goto prefs, and try to enable sharing, it asks me for my password then nothing happens. Is there anyway to configure a folder to be able to share from terminal? I tried to install nautilus, but that had no tab for sharing under folder prefs. I am running kubuntu intrepid.

I got my entire home folder shared by adding a line to smb.conf

[home]
comment = home
path =/home/mike (mike is the main folder in my home directory)
browseable = yes

hope this helps other people
