Running Windows Apps on Ubuntu

I am very new at this. Really like Ubuntu. There are windows apps that i have to run. Is there step by step on installing Wine, Trouble shooting, launching windows programs on ubuntu. What type of windows apps would not be supported. Thanks.

you can install it with sudo apt-get install wine and it will run most basic brograms with wine *.exe. (You can also add that as an open with option)
I've had some trouble running more complicated programs like Halo.

The other option is to install VMWare (virtual machines)

You can have a full Windows installation within a Virtual Machine to run your apps, but the speed isn't great.
